PLEASE WHITELIST US. If it weren’t for the ads, LaptopMedia wouldn’t be running.
Our articles are free to read but the equipment in our Labs isn’t. We want to be as objective and unbiased as possible, and you can help us keep our jobs by whitelisting our media in your adblocker.

For a little extra bucks, the ASUS ROG Strix GL553VE offers much better image quality than its competitors thanks to the excellent IPS panel that it has. In the pack below, you will find the usual Health-Guard, Office work / Web design and Gaming / Movie Nights profiles, each of which will improve the overall image quality in certain aspects. You can read more about them here and how to use them. We also suggest reading our dedicated article regarding blue light emissions and PWM and how our custom profiles help eliminate both to certain extent.

The ASUS ROG Strix GL553VE has a Full HD panel with 92% sRGB coverage, high contrast ratio (1060:1), hihgh maximum brightness (316 cd/m2) and almost optimal color temperature (6400K).

Since our profiles are tailored for each individual display model, this article and its respective profile package are meant for ASUS ROG GL553VE with 15.6″ panel manufactured by BOE with model number NV156FHM-N43 featuring FHD (1920×1080) resolution and the machine can be found at Amazon.com: ASUS ROG Strix GL553VE.

In addition to receiving efficient and health-friendly profiles, by buying LaptopMedia's products you also support the development of our labs, where we test devices in order to produce the most objective reviews possible.

    Office work and web design

    Office work / Web design

If your field is office work or web design, or you just want your monitor's color set to be as accurate as possible for the Internet color space, this profile will prove to be useful.

    Gaming or movie nights

    Gaming or Movie nights

We developed this profile especially for occasions on which you spend a lot of time in front of your monitor with some games or watching movies – it will be easier for you to discern fine nuances in the dark.

    Health protection

    Health-Guard

This profile reduces the negative impact of pulsation and the blue spectrum, securing your eyes and body. You still get a pitch-perfect color image, albeit slightly warmer.

    Office Work / Web Design

This profile aims to deliver the most accurate colors possible in the sRGB gamut – the colors used on the Web. In this case, the panel doesn’t have the needed properties for color-sensitive work but our profiles will slightly improve the average dE2000 for better color reproduction.

We’ve also adjusted the gamma curve and white balance to fit the standards.

    Gaming and Movie Nights

You can take advantage of the Gaming and Movie Nights profile, which will improve the overall visibility – especially in darker areas of the image – during gaming and watching movies (you can see an example here).

    Health-Guard profile

As for the Health-Guard profile, it reduces the blue light impact and eliminates the PWM. This profile will definitely come in handy because the panel uses PWM for adjusting brightness and will also reduce the negative impact from the blue light emissions.

    Installing and using the profiles

You can find a guide for installing and using the profiles HERE.
