Dell Precision 15 3520 display profiles – Quality and Health impact results

Dell’s Precision 15 3520 configuration with IPS panel offers excellent picture quality but if you are planning to do some color-sensitive work on this thing, consider our custom profiles. The profile packages contain the usual Office work, Design & Gaming and Health-Guard profiles, each of which will improve the overall image quality in certain aspects. You can read more about them here and how to use them. We also suggest reading our dedicated article regarding blue light emissions and PWM and how our custom Health-Guard profile reduces Blue Light’s impact and eliminates the harmful PWM.

The Dell Precision 15 3520 has a Full HD IPS panel with 90% sRGB color gamut coverage, high contrast ratio (1040:1), high maximum brightness (316 cd/m2) and optimal color temperature – 6500K.

Since our profiles are tailored for each individual display model, this article and its respective profile package are meant for the Dell Precision 15 3520 with 15.6″ panel manufactured by LG with model number LP156WF6-SPP1 featuring FHD (1920 x 1080) resolution and the machine can be found at Amazon.com: Dell Precision 15 3520.

Office Work

Office Work should be used mostly by users who spend most of the time looking at pieces of text, tables or just surfing. This profile aims to deliver better distinctness and clarity by keeping a flat gamma curve (2.20), native color temperature and perceptually accurate colors.

Design and Gaming

This profile is aimed at designers who work with colors professionally, and for games and movies as well. Design and Gaming takes display panels to their limits, making them as accurate as possible in the sRGB IEC61966-2-1 standard for Web and HDTV, at white point D65.

Health-Guard

Health-Guard eliminates the harmful Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and reduces the negative Blue Light which affects our eyes and body. Since it’s custom tailored for every panel, it manages to keep the colors perceptually accurate. Health-Guard simulates paper so the pressure on the eyes is greatly reduced.
