Metal design and Android 7.1 Nougat

Similarly to Galaxy J5 (2017), J7 also comes with a renewed design compared to its predecessor. A fully metal body with profile thickness of 8 mm and extremely thin side frames of the display are now available. The smartphone is also equipped with fingerprint sensor built in the Home button and it is also IP54 certified meaning it is dust- and waterproof.

Galaxy J7 (2017) works with the current Android 7.1 Nougat OS and the latest version of Samsung’s UI added to it. In this way, the model can boast with most of the software features available in the flagship Galaxy S8.

5.5-inch display and 8-core Exynos 7870

The model’s display has a diagonal of 5.5 inches providing you with even larger working space. Additionally, the resolution is Full HD (1920 x 1080), so you can take delight in a detailed enough image as the pixel density is around 401ppi. Furthermore, a Super AMOLED matrix takes care of the high-quality image and the Always-on feature is also available.

And so, the mobile chip in the device is Exynos 7870 and it includes eight Cortex-A53 cores whose clock speed reaches up to 1.6GHz. Also, the Mali-T830MP2 GPU takes care of the graphics capabilities, while the chip is also complemented by 3GB of RAM. The internal storage is only 16GB but, luckily, a microSD slot is available once again supporting up to 256GB.

Two 13MP cameras and a 3600mAh battery

As for the main camera, it is 13MP and it features an autofocus and LED flashlight. Its f/1.7 aperture stands out promising high-quality shots in low light. You can record Full HD videos and also take advantage of the available software modes. The selfie camera is also 13MP and it comes with its own LED flashlight, f/1.9 aperture and Full HD video recording.

The smartphone battery has a capacity of 3600mAh which should provide high durability between charges given the economical Exynos chip.
