AMD Radeon HD 8730M, codenamed “Lombok”, is a mid-range graphics chip, announced in early Q2 of 2012. It is part of the GCN (Graphics Core Next) generation, constructed through a 28nm process, and it has 384 Radeon cores.
All of them operate at 650MHz, but AMD’s Turbo clock functionality can increase the frequency by a potential7-8%, up to 700MHz, based on the laptop’s cooling facilities.
HD 8730M has a 128bit bus and its own DDR3 memory. It supports DirectX 11.1, Pixel Shader 5.0,
OpenCL 1.1 and OpenGL 4.2. Memory bandwidth goes up to 32GB/sec.
