[Comparison] Intel Core i7-1165G7 vs AMD Ryzen 7 4700U – AMD is still undefeated in the CPU space, but loses in the GPU test

AMD has been killing it in the CPU space for some time now, which wasn’t always like that. If you remember the early pre-Zen days, Intel had a monopoly on the market and it was getting boring, to be honest.

Nowadays, it seems that the shoes on the other foot and Intel is at the ropes, fighting ever so vigilantly to restore its reputation as the best when it comes to CPUs. This time we will be giving something more: below you can see the results from our benchmarks of the integrated GPUs inside the Ryzen and the Core i7.

You can find detailed information about the CPUs and their respective integrated GPUs here:

CPU benchmark

The results are close, but the Ryzen 7 4700U is the clear winner. But we agree that Intel is definitely on the right track and was a worthy opponent.

GPU benchmark

In the GPU department, Intel’s integrated solution just mops the floor with the Ryzen GPU. We saw a performance increase of up to 95% throughout our different tests.

Conclusion

AMD became a serious competitor with its Ryzen processors and is now the premier choice in terms of computational performance. They once again beat Intel in the CPU department (with a 6-7% advantage) but manage to lose in the GPU tests – Iris Xe Graphics G7 is up to twice faster! It’s awesome to see that Intel isn’t holding back and is steadily improving their CPUs and integrated GPUs, which were a laughing stock up until recently.
