Intel has upgraded big time, utilizing a hybrid architecture with their 12th Gen CPU family. Today we take one of the higher models inside the Alder Lake U-series range, the Core i7-1255U, and put it against one of the better budget U-series CPUs from last year, the Ryzen 5 5600U.

The Core i7-1255U has a healthy lead in 3D Rendering, providing a 16% higher score in Cinebench 20.

Conclusion

The Intel CPU offers decent performance advantages, however, the Ryzen 5 5600U comes in at a decently lower price, so if it’s the value you’re looking after, you might want to consider the AMD chip as well. If you want to dabble in Creator work as well, the Intel CPU will be better, since its iGPU has much more productivity capabilities.
