[FPS Benchmarks] Borderlands 3 on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 [40W and 50W] – 10W bigger TGP means 32 FPS on Badass preset
Borderlands 3 has a unique visual style because it features a cell shading tech. The game looks cartoon-ish but this is the thing that makes the game a bit fresher. Thing is, the Badass preset is a real badass because it’s can show you a very detailed image but you’re going to need a very powerful notebook if you want at least 60 FPS.
Things are getting brighter when turning down the settings. It seems that the games don’t lose too much eye-candiness while lowering the visuals. This leads us to the point where we have to see what the GeForce GTX 1650 [40W, 896 CUDA, GDDR6], and the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W, 1024 CUDA, GDDR5] are capable off. The two green mid-range GPUs already showed us that they can handle a lot of games with decently increased visuals so let’s see what they can do here.

Verdict
If you are not too greedy for max settings, the Medium preset is everything that you need, especially if you have a mid-range video card like the GTX 1650. It offers a good combination of visual quality (good-looking textures, lighting, and character models) and performance. If we have to be honest, the games look a bit washed-out on Low.
Both GPUs can handle this game pretty easily. The GeForce GTX 1650 [40W] is good enough for settings up to High while the 50W variant is the better performer in this article – it even achieved more than 30 FPS when everything is bumped to the max. Borderlands 3 is a long game and if you plan to play it every day for an hour or two, the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W] will give you (probably) more frames and a smoother experience compared to the 40W variant.
