ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5 (CX5400): Full Specs

Design

The Chromebook Flip CX5 is entirely built from aluminum, which allows it to be lightweight and slim. In fact, it weighs 1.40 kg has a thickness of 15.7mm. The Flat exterior looks great and the 360-degree hinge allows the device to be used as a tablet, which can be used well with the stylus pen. The chamfered edges on the base and lid make the laptop appear even more elegant. The branding is minimal, with an ASUS logo in the center o the lid and a Chromebook wordmark in the upper left corner.

Display

Turns out our assumption was correct and the display that is used here will absolutely suffice for color-sensitive work. The 14-inch Full HD IPS display has a glossy glass cover, a max brightness of 300 nits, an 85% screen-to-body ratio, and 100% sRGB coverage.

Specifications and features

The device offers powerful specs, all part of the Tiger Lake G-series from Intel. The entry configuration comes with the Core i3-1110G4, with the Core i5-1130G7 and the Core i7-1160G7 also being available. These CPUs don’t offer a lot of value when it comes to prolonged heavy workloads, due to the low 15W TDP that they come with, but their snappy performance will be felt in day-to-day tasks. For the graphics, you have the Iris Xe Graphics. The unit you get depends on the CPU that you choose.

In terms of features, we have to mention the stylus, which sits tucked in the laptop when you don’t need it. The laptop has also passed the MIL-STD-810H tests, which include a variety of durability tests. All, in all, you won’t have to worry about the rigidity and toughness of the laptop. The I/O is pretty wide, consisting of two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1), a MicroSD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
