[Specs and Info] HP Pavilion Aero 13 (13-be0000): As lightweight as possible

Smaller laptops have gotten popular, with 13-inch and 14-inch devices popping up everywhere.

Today we have a device that combines a 13-inch form factor with a 16:10 display. It also has the newest Ryzen 5000U-series processors, which give it a nice punch when it comes to performance. The laptop in question is the HP Pavilion Aero 13, and as its name suggests, it tries to be as light as possible, while not sacrificing performance.

Today we are giving you a quick look at the HP Pavilion Aero 13 (13-be0000).

HP Pavilion Aero 13 (13-be0000): Full Specs

Design

As the laptop is built entirely from magnesium, it is made to be as thin as possible. However, this doesn’t compromise the rigidity, as magnesium sheets can be cut to be thinner while providing the same level of sturdiness, thus reducing both the weight and the thickness of the device, which weighs less than a kilogram and a thickness of 16.9 mm. The design is pretty minimal, with rounded corners and edges, while keeping the overall rectangular sharp shape. There is a glossy HP logo on the lid, which also works as a hinge when opening the laptop, lifting the rear end to provide more room for the cooling to breathe.

Display

The Aero is offered with two IPS display options, both with a 13.3-inch diagonal. The first one has an FHD+ resolution, while the second one has a QHD+ resolution. Both panels have a 400 nit max brightness and cover 100% of the sRGB color gamut. In addition to that, the bezels are quite thin, so you’re getting the most out of the screen and the body.

Specifications and features

Specs-wise, we have the Ryzen 5 5600U and the Ryzen 7 5800U. The CPUs come with a 6/12 and an 8/16 layout, while also having a boost speed of over 4.00 GHz. Keep in mind that these CPUs aren’t made for continuous heavy workloads, but can still handle some video editing and image processing. In terms of graphics, we have the integrated RX Vega units, which have the same 15W TDP as the CPUs.

Features-wise, the laptop brings a fingerprint reader, an HD Webcam, and a backlit keyboard. The speaker setup is tuned by Bang&Olufsen, which should provide quality audio. With that said, this little machine can be a really good option for doing graphic design or editing images on the go, especially if you don’t need the level of performance that H-series CPUs bring to the table.
