[Specs, Info, and Prices] Acer Predator Helios 300 (PH317-56) – all for the sake of performance

While larger 17.3-inch gaming notebooks have been getting slimmer and lighter, the Predator Helios 300 has stayed bulky and heavy, leaving space on the inside for cooling and airflow.

Chances are, you’ll need both of them in order to harness the power of the Core i7-12700H and the RTX 30-series graphics. It seems that Acer is making a gaming comeback, reinventing the Nitro 5 series, and upgrading the Helios 300, which is one of the better mid-range notebooks.

Today we are giving you a quick overview of the Acer Predator Helios 300 (PH317-56).

The Acer Predator Helios 300 (PH317-56) is available now at a price of $1749.99.

Acer Predator Helios 300 (PH317-56): Full Specs

Design

The design of the laptop is modern, with a sleek chassis that doesn’t forget its gaming roots. It’s all black but has a light-up Predator logo and an RGB strip on the bottom panel. Similar to the Nitro 5, the base now is extended further to the back and the lid is slimmer. The base has a large grill above the keyboard, which houses the speakers. The laptop isn’t portable at all, weighing 3.00 kg and having a profile of 26.9 mm.

Display

There are three displays to choose from, with two Full HD IPS panels that offer either a 144Hz or 165Hz refresh rate. If you want a more powerful GPU and a nicer display to go with it, there is a QHD IPS panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. Since these aren’t Acer’s entry-level gaming laptops, we expect the displays to come with good color reproduction.

Specifications and features

For now, there’s only one CPU choice – the 14-core Core i7-12700H, which so far, has been exceptional in other devices. As for graphics, there are very powerful options, starting from the 140W RTX 3060, all the way up to the RTX 3080. Even the 3060, with this TGP, should do a pretty good job in 1440p gaming.

Now, let’s focus on cooling. The 5th Gen Aeroblade 3D fans are combined with liquid metal, which should unleash the power inside the CPU and GPU.
