[Specs, Info and Prices] List of all laptops with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 / 3080 Max-Q (Updated: November 2021)

Nowadays, pretty much every company that manufactures gaming laptops is leaning on the Ampere graphics cards from NVIDIA. To make your job at choosing a new device easier, we decided to make a separate list with all the laptops that come with the new RTX 3080.

In recent years, NVIDIA has begun pumping out additional versions of their GPUs, virtually killing the Max-Q branding. The way that they change the TGP and other vital components affects the performance more than you would expect. That is why we make it our job to determine the exact GPU version that comes in any notebook, right after we get our hands on it.

Below we have the laptop grouped by manufacturer, with updates coming frequently, any time when a new device gets announced or hits the market.

Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-41)

Acer’s Nitro brand, while being quite new, already has established itself as a great option for gamers, and although it doesn’t have a unique characteristic about its products, sometimes all a person needs is a dependable and powerful device without weird quirks.

The Nitro 5, while not being a Predator, still offers the top of the top, in terms of performance with specs going up to the Ryzen 9  5900HX and the RTX 3080. Of course, other less powerful CPU and GPU options are available as well. The display is a choice between three IPS panels: two Full HD screens with either 144Hz or 360Hz refresh rate, and one QHD panel with 165Hz.

ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 G733

ASUS has been the most recognizable name when it comes to gaming, period. Its ROG brand is synonymous with flagship gaming performance and its devices have been nothing short of exceptional. The ROG Strix Scar 17 comes with three options for display, all with a size of 17.3 inches and IPS matrices. Two of them are Full HD panels with either 300Hz or 360Hz refresh rate, with one QHD screen with a 165Hz refresh rate.

As for the internals, they are what you would expect: the latest from AMD and NVIDIA, meaning up to the Ryzen 9 5900HX and the RTX 3080. The great pairing of display quality and performance offers an unforgettable gaming experience.

ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 G533

The little brother of the Strix Scar 17, while being smaller, is otherwise on par when it comes to performance, offering the same options for CPUs and GPUs, with an even larger selection to choose from. Choices can go up to the Ryzen 9 5900HX, but two Ryzen 7 processors are also available. For the graphics, you get to choose between the three RTX 3000-series cards, with the 3080 being the best of the bunch.

For the display, ASUS has provided two different IPS options, one Full HD panel with a refresh rate of 300Hz, and one UHD screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. The smaller screen increases the portability, with the Scar 15 weighing 0.5 kg less than the Scar 17.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503

For those of you who appreciate a slimmer device with a more toned-down design, but would still want the flagship performance of the laptops mentioned beforehand, ASUS has created the ROG Zephyrus G15. Weighing only 1.90 kg, it features the latest from AMD and NVIDIA, with the Ryzen 9 5900HS being the most powerful CPU you can get.

For the graphics cards, you can choose between the RTX 3080 and RTX 3060, and while the 3080 is clearly better, for 1080p gaming the 3060 will do more than a remarkable job. The screen is available in two resolutions and refresh rates. You can get either Full HD and 144Hz or QHD and 165Hz.

Alienware m17 R4

The first machine in the article to feature hardware from Intel, the Alienware m17 R4, offers quite the gaming package, for a pretty premium price tag. Equipped with up to a Core i9-10980HK and an RTX 3080, it delivers an out worldly level of performance, that is further established by the futuristic alien design.

This big laptop comes with three 17.3-inch IPS screens. Two of them come in Full HD resolution, with either a 144Hz or 360Hz refresh rate. For the true enthusiasts out there, or perhaps the creators and designers of the world, there is a UHD panel, which should provide great detail and accurate colors.

Alienware m15 R4

If big and bulky laptops arent your thing, but you still want a powerful and good-looking device, Alienware has for you the m15 R4, which is basically the m17, but with a smaller screen. While most people will think that it is a cut-down version, we would have to disappoint them, because the m15 has some aces up its sleeve that even the m17 doesn’t.

The specs are identical, featuring the same RTX 3000-series graphics cards, and the 10th gen Intel CPUs, with the same Core i9 and RTX 3080 being available. Changes come however when we move over to the display part. The base model comes with a 1080p IPS screen with a 300Hz refresh rate, with a 4K OLED panel also being available, for those of you who have deep enough pockets.

Lenovo Legion 7 (16″)

Lenovo seems to be setting a new standard when it comes to laptops, with their new Legion 7 flagship coming with a 16-inch QHD IPS 165Hz screen that is quite the deviation from the 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch sizes that are most commonly used. With this screen size and the 16:10 aspect ratio, you get a device, that is still excellent for gaming, but is also good for content creation and productivity.

The design and build quality are top-notch, with Lenovo being one of the few manufacturers that implements a more toned-down design, which is a sight for sore eyes with all the RGB madness that is going around.

The specs are also as great as they can get with the Ryzen 9 5900HX and the RTX 3080 Max-Q being the best options you can get.

MSI GE66 Raider

MSI found new inspiration with its recent MSIology event, at which it showed off its newest addition, including the GE66 Raider, which is a smaller version of the GE76 Raider. The good news is that it comes with the same options for hardware as the GE76, this being the 10th gen CPUs from Intel and the RTX 3000-series Ampere GPUs.

For the visuals, MSI has selected two options that both have something unique to offer. The first option is for a Full HD IPS panel with a 300Hz refresh rate that is ideal for gamers. For the other option, you have a 4K panel, which will be great for productivity. You also get the features from the GE76 such as the SteelSeries RGB keyboard, Bluetooth 5, and Wi-Fi 6.

MSI GP66 Leopard (10UHx / 10UGx / 10UEx)

The MSI GP66 Leopard is on paper almost exactly the same as its bigger sibling the GP76 Leopard. The only difference is the smaller 15.6-inch display, which can be a secret blessing in disguise, offering more portability.

The internal components remain the same with the Intel Comet Lake CPUs being the processors of choice. For the graphics, you get the Ampere RTX graphics cards, with the best available option being the RTX 3080 Max-Q. The displays of choice are both Full HD IPS panels with either a 144Hz or 240Hz refresh rate. You’d be glad to hear that it also keeps the SteelSeries keyboard, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5 connectivity.

MSI GS66 Stealth

While flagship gaming laptops are our bread and butter, we also love to take a look at more inexpensive devices, and while this GS66 Stealth isn’t cheap at all, on the font of other machines, it is less expensive, while still providing the main qualities that a gaming laptop should.

Packing hardware up to the Core i9-10980HK and the RTX 3080, which will provide enough power to handle today’s most intensive triple-A titles. The thin and light shell (as light as a gaming device can get) is also a plus, increasing the overall portability. It weighs 2.10 kg and has a profile of 18mm at the thickest part.

Razer Blade 15 Advanced (2021)

The Razer Blade 15 Advanced really offers some advanced features to the table. Of course, it’s not an affordable device but it shines with specs like a thin profile – 17 mm and yes, you can have it with a full-blown GeForce RTX 3080. Such a slim profile combined with a super-powerful mobile GPU – we are curious to see how this symbiosis will work in real-life conditions.

In addition to that, this notebook isn’t heavy at all and it weighs 2.14 kg which is very respectable for a gaming laptop of this caliber. While speaking of thin profile and low weight, the Vapor Chamber cooling solution will face a real challenge to cool down a GeForce RTX 3080 considering the very limited space inside of the notebook.

When it comes to CPU options, this machine can be picked with up to an 8-core CPU like the Comet Lake-H Intel Core i7-10875H. For display options, you can choose among some good panels – a 360 Hz 1080p variant, a 1440p display, and a 4K OLED unit. Perhaps most gamers should be happy with the keyboard that is a per-key RGB Razer Chroma unit.

Razer Blade Pro 17 (2021)

A 17.3″ laptop with a GeForce RTX 3080 – that sounds like a good combination for long hours of gaming. The Razer Blade Pro 17 (2021) can offer both of these things – a big display and the top dog of the NVIDIA mobile Ampere GPUs.

First of all, the profile of this laptop is on the thin side for a 17-incher –  19.9 mm. On the other hand, the weight can be considered as okay but nothing more than that because it is 2.75 kg – but hey, that’s a big machine, don’t forget that.

The CPU that you can rely on is the Intel Core i7-10875H which is an 8-core Intel Comet Lake-H chip. As for the GPUs, as we said, the GeForce RTX 3080 or RTX 3070 are available for configuring.  The display options look great – you can choose between a 360 Hz 1080p panel, a 1440p unit, and a 4K OLED option.
