4 reasons to buy HP Omen 15 (mid-2017)

1. Excellent IPS panel (optional 120Hz screen is available as well)

The notebook uses a great 15.6-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS panel with a good maximum brightness of 310 cd/m2 and excellent contrast ratio (1200:1). In addition, the display covers 94% of the sRGB color gamut which makes the laptop perfect for gaming and multimedia. Furthermore, you can also opt for an optional 120Hz screen.

2. Good value (regarding the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti configurations)

When it comes to the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti configurations of the model, the price tag is quite reasonable making it a good bargain.

3. Expanded I/O including mini DisplayPort and USB-C Thunderbolt

Another impressive feature of HP Omen 15 (mid-2017) is the wide port variety. On the left, you are presented with the most commonly used connectors – mini DisplayPort, HDMI, RJ-45 for LAN, USB 3.0, USB-C with Thunderbolt support and two 3.5 mm audio jacks for external microphone and headphones. On the right, however, you will notice only two USB 3.0 ports and an SD card reader.

4. Thin and lightweight

The laptop design is impressively thin and light measuring just 24.8 mm in height and  2.62 kg in weight which is quite portable for a 15-incher.

1 reason NOT to buy HP Omen 15 (mid-2017)

1. The interior surface gets a little warm after extended use (for the GTX 1060 Max-Q model only)

The only major drawback of the device is that the area around the center and the upper part of the keyboard gets a little warm but this applies only to the GTX 1060 Max-Q configuration.
