AMD Ryzen 7 2700 is the new gold medalist in our Top Laptop CPU Ranking

AMD’s Ryzen 7 2700 CPU is basically the “affordable” octa-core AMD option part of the 2nd generation Ryzen processors, codenamed Pinnacle Ridge. It is also known as the slightly slower equivalent of the AMD’s flagship Ryzen 2700X. The chip has managed to smash any competition in the face of other top-notch processors and absolutely deservedly took the crown in our Top Laptop CPU Ranking.

The AMD Ryzen 7 2700 is based on AMD’s new 12 nm Zen+ architecture which seems to be AMD’s response to Intel’s 8th generation Coffee Lake processor series by Intel. In addition, it features a total of 8 cores and can execute up to 16 threads simultaneously thanks to Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). What’s more, AMD Ryzen 7 2700 runs at a base frequency of 3.2 GHz that can be boosted up to 4.1 GHz. Other specs include 16MB of L3 Cache, support for up to a dual-channel DDR4 memory controller, as well as TDP rated at 65 W which is nearly twice more efficient than the 105 W TDP of Ryzen 7 2700 X.
