ASUS VP28UQG – new affordable 4K gaming monitor

The Taiwanese company ASUS revealed a new monitor that features several specs important to users, the most significant one probably being 4K resolution at a relatively low price. Additionally, the model is VP28UQG and it is expected to hit the shelves by the end of July. This ASUS device features a 28-inch panel with a TN matrix and resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels (via HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2 ports). Unlike IPS panels, the TN matrix offers a response time of just 1 ms making the monitor a good choice for FPS games.

Another key feature of ASUS VP28UQG is the support of FreeSync technology. It eliminates the unwanted tearing which occurs when there is a discrepancy between the frame and the refresh rate. In order to use this option, however, you need to have an AMD GPU. For the moment, ASUS hasn’t announced the price of VP28UQG but it is expected to be around $400.
