MediaTek released a teaser for their new top-shelf SoC – Helio X20

helio_x20_portada-960x623It is expected to see the first devices boasting MediaTek’s new SoC (Helio X20) by the end of this year and the manufacturers, which will take advantage of the new chip, will most likely be Xiaomi, Meizu and HTC. Helio X20 is going to be MediaTek’s next top-tier SoC and in order to keep the hype around it, the company periodically release intriguing information about its capabilities. A couple of images about MediaTek’s new mobile chip recently popped up on the web and it looks like the Helio X20 will support cameras with up to 32MP sensors as well as video recording at 4K resolution. Moreover, it will also offer a new super-fast focus technology.

It is also known that the Helio X20 will boast 10 cores, separated into three clusters. The first one will feature two Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.5GHz, the second consists of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and the third – four Cortex-A53 at 1.5GHz. As for the GPU, the Mali-T800 will be taking care of the SoC’s graphic performance.
