New ASUS ZenFone 2 variants with Qualcomm SoCs and laser AF unveiled at Computex 2015

It’s hard to miss on the new ZenFone 2 from ASUS that’s a ridiculous powerhouse for the right amount of money. We are currently reviewing the one with Intel Atom Z3580 SoC and 4GB of RAM and you check out these articles while you are waiting for the full review:

However, we are not here to talk about this specific model. During Computex 2015, ASUS outed several variants of the model all featuring Qualcomm CPUs. Starting with the 5-inch model ZE500KL with 720 x 1280 resolution and Snapdragon 410 running the show. The company is also offering the model with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The camera setup remains the same – 13MP back and 5MP front-facing shooter.

That’s not all, though. The Taiwanese company is offering the model in the standard 5.5-inch display with the same HD resolution, 3000 mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, 16GB ROM, 13MP back and 5MP front-facing cameras, Snapdragon 410 SoC, and laser auto-focus. This one comes by the name of ZenFone 2 ZE550KL. The same 6-inch variant is also available, but with a more powerful Snapdragon 615 SoC, again 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB of RAM/ROM, 3000 mAh battery capacity and HD screen.

And the last model is a combination of the smaller 5.5-inch variant and more powerful Snapdragon 615 SoC, but this time buyers can choose from 720p and 1080p displays as well as the same combination of 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB ROM. It’s really nice to see a major manufacturer offering its smartphones with a wide variety of choices between SoCs, memory, screen sizes, and display resolution. Also, note that all models come with pre-installed Android 5.0.2
