The new HP Pavilion x360 15 (15-cr0000) doesn’t use harmful PWM

Pulse-width modulation (PWM) is an easy way to control monitor brightness. When you lower the brightness, the light intensity of the backlight is not lowered, but instead turned off and on by the electronics with a frequency indistinguishable to the human eye. Although you can’t see it you can definitely feel it – PWM can lead to migraines, headaches or other forms of discomfort after long-term usage (Learn more HERE).

Here is a piece of good news about the new HP Pavilion x360 15 (15-cr0000) from our laboratory – the AUO B156HAN02.2 (AUO22ED) panel in the model doesn’t use PWM.

However, you should be careful with the Blue Light emitted from the screen if you use your notebook in the evenings. Our custom-tailored Health-Guard profile for Pavilion x360 15 reduces the harmful Blue Light while keeping the colors perceptually accurate.

Office Work

Office Work should be used mostly by users who spend most of the time looking at pieces of text, tables or just surfing. This profile aims to deliver better distinctness and clarity by keeping a flat gamma curve (2.20), native color temperature and perceptually accurate colors.

Design and Gaming

This profile is aimed at designers who work with colors professionally, and for games and movies as well. Design and Gaming takes display panels to their limits, making them as accurate as possible in the sRGB IEC61966-2-1 standard for Web and HDTV, at white point D65.

Health-Guard

Health-Guard eliminates the harmful Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and reduces the negative Blue Light which affects our eyes and body. Since it’s custom tailored for every panel, it manages to keep the colors perceptually accurate. Health-Guard simulates paper so the pressure on the eyes is greatly reduced.
