The P2418HT and P2418HZ are two new 24-inch monitors from Dell that are ideal for business and work

At this year’s CES convention in January Dell showcased its new monitors. The company grabbed our attention with the 32-inch 8K UltraSharp monitor which is the gamer’s dream and the ridiculously thin 27-inch HDR ready Dell S2718D. And now it is time to take a look at two new models that are more oriented toward business and work rather than entertainment – the P2418HT and P2418HZ.

Both models are almost identical with one key difference – the HT model has a touchscreen panel. Let’s start out with the identical specs. The near bezel-less design makes them ideal for multi-screen setups. They have a powerful integrated 5W speaker and a noise canceling microphone. Both models are equipped with a 23.8-inch anti-glare ComfortView Full HD (1920 x 1080p) IPS LED-backlit panel with 60Hz refresh rate and 178 degrees viewing angles. They also feature a 1000:1 static contrast ratio and 6ms response time.

Connectivity-wise both models are equipped with all the basic ports – HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and a headphone and mic combo jack. Unfortunately, there is no Type-C or Thunderbolt 3.0 support.

Now let’s take a closer look at them separately. First, the P2418HZ. This model is designed for remote communication as Dell claims. It features a 2MP Full HD (1920 x 1080p) infrared camera for conducting crystal-clear video calls. It is also Windows Hello and Microsoft Skype for Business certified. The camera provides facial recognition via Windows Hello while there is also voice activation using Microsoft Cortana. The OSD (On Screen Display) buttons provide a convenient way to start or end video calls.

Now it’s time to say a few words for the Dell P2418HT. As we already mentioned and the “T” in the name suggests this model has a 10-point touch sensitive display. While The HZ model is oriented for business and video conversations the HT is designed to satisfy the needs of a graphical designer. The wide viewing angles and anti-glare screen ensure a superb experience and make working on the monitor comfortable and seamless. There is also an articulating stand that allows you to position the display whichever way you want. Support for VESA wall mounts is provided.

The specs of the two models don’t include anything special but cover the basis for every work, business or home environment which makes them an ideal all-rounder. Both models are currently available and are priced at the very reasonable sub-300 dollar mark.
