Despite being a budget device, the Ideapad 3i Gen 6 (15″), we see quite some upgrade options. However, the battery pack is disappointingly small.

1. Remove the bottom plate

To take this laptop apart, you need to undo 10 Phillips-head screws. After that, pry the bottom panel with a plastic tool, and remove it from the chassis.


2. Battery

The battery here is a bit underwhelming with a capacity of only 38Wh.


3. Мemory and storage

First, let’s talk about the soldered memory. There is either 4GB or 8GB of RAM that is nonremovable. Additionally, you get one SODIMM slot, that works together with the soldered memory in dual-channel mode. Storage-wise, you get one M.2 PCIe x4 slot, as well as a 2.5-inch SATA drive bay.


4. Cooling system

Looking at the cooling solution, we see a rather thin heat pipe and a fan that looks quite big.
