The land of premium business notebooks is getting filled up with more and more convertibles. The form factor allows for some uniqueness and versatility, allowing for one device to serve a different purpose.

Especially with more expensive laptops, which come with good enough displays to be used by designers, the lines are really blurred. In terms of the design, things are there have been shaken up. The new laptop is more elegant, with most of the angles and aggressiveness being softened up. The device also gets rid of the front-firing speakers, which is a questionable decision. Dimensions-wise, the G9 laptop is slightly thicker, but at least it weighs only 1.34 kg.

The new generation brings a 16:10 display, with an FHD+ resolution and a 14-inch diagonal. Sadly, the 4K UHD panel on the previous year’s device is missing.

Lastly, we have to mention the specs. The new device brings the Core i7-1250U, which is part of the new Alder Lake U-series. If you need more power, however, there is the Alder Lake P-series with the Core i7-1270P and the Core i7-1280P. They replace the whole Tiger Lake U-series. The new CPUs come with 15W and 28W TDP. The graphics stay the same, with the Iris Xe Graphics G7.
