日本[Comparison] Intel Core i3-1215U vs AMD Ryzen 5 5600U – New Gen vs Last Gen
The more affordable Alder Lake chips are finally here, with the Core i3-1215U being one of the first U-series CPUs that we have tested, so far delivering decent results in terms of performance and efficiency.
However, there is still a lot to be desired, and the competition doesn’t shy away from providing very good value laptops equipped with AMD’s U-series offerings, which have been famous for their efficiency and power. Checking out the pricing and it seems like a lot of laptops with the Core i3-1215U cost around the same as a laptop with the Ryzen 5 5600U, a chip which should be higher on the imaginary totem pole.
Today, we are testing that theory by comparing the Core i3-1215U against the AMD Ryzen 5 5600U.

CPU benchmarks
The AMD CPU unloads a quick jab, striking a victory in the Cinebench 20 benchmark, scoring 93% higher.

Conclusion
The new chip might be all fancy with its performance and efficiency cores, but it doesn’t stand a chance against the Ryzen 5 5600U. The AMD CPU has raw power that it can leverage in most tasks while costing around the same price. If that wasn’t the case, we’d hardly be comparing them against each other, but the reality is you can get decently powerful last-gen hardware for a really good price.
