01-lg-g4-beat-smartphone-premium-heritageAfter we introduced you to all the members of LG’s G4 family in the last couple of months via our in-depth reviews, now it’s time to welcome a new model to the group – LG G4s. As a representative of the G4 series, the design of G4s is based on the company’s current flagship. It features the same textured back, button layout, form and overall look, but in smaller dimensions. The device is 9.9 mm thick and weighs 139 grams.

5.2-inch Full HD display and Snapdragon 610/615 SoC

LG G4s’ display is 5.2″ and has Full HD resolution leading to a pixel density is 424 ppi. The display is not only sharp, but also has an IPS panel, which means that the colors on it will be vivid and the viewing angles – great. Furthermore, the screen is more visible in outdoor conditions due to the so called In-cell technology used.

The device boast a Snapdragon 610/615 SoC integrating four Cortex-A53 cores working at 1.5GHz along with an Adreno 405 GPU and 1.5GB RAM. The internal storage in LG G4s probably won’t be enough for the users, but a microSD memory card slot (up to 64GB) will come in handy. The capacity of the battery in the unit is 2300mAh and even though we don’t have any information about the battery life, LG claims that it should fare at a decent level. The main reason for this is the energy-saving SoC.

Laser autofocus camera and Android 5.1 Lollipop OS

LG G4s has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash. Along with various shooting modes, it offers a wide variety of settings in the camera menu. Some of them are white balance, ISO, shutter speed etc. Last, but not least, the camera boasts an improved laser autofocus. The device features a color detection sensor that makes the colors on the photos look as close as possible to the real scenes. The front-facing camera of the device has a 5MP sensor and also has some neat features. One of them allows you to quickly capture several consecutive selfies by simply clenching your fist.

We have no doubts about the G4s in the software department. LG’s user interface looks good and has a lot of neat features, not to mention that it is on top of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which has much to offer, all by itself.
