The Latitude 13-series presents a very portable form factor, that doesn’t limit the number of features and ports that the laptop can provide. It also comes with two variants, both a standard clamshell laptop and a convertible one with a 360-degree hinge.

Powered by one of several Alder Lake U-series chips, it can handle the difficulties of office work, while also lasting for as long as possible, thanks to a 58Wh battery pack.

Design

The laptop has a fully aluminum design with a metallic grey finish. The lid has a brushed aluminum look, with a matte Dell logo. The chassis has sharp edges and rounded corners. There is also a significant difference in weight between the standard and the convertible laptop. The regular Latitude 13 weighs less than a kilogram, while the 2-in-1 option stops the scales at 1.36 kg.

Display

Both laptops use a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS panel with 250 nits of brightness. The convertible has an additional touch layer. Sadly, Dell gives no info about the color reproduction, however, if we go and check out last year’s laptop, it covered about half of all colors on the internet, which isn’t ready for color-sensitive work.

Specifications and features

The Alder Lake U-series is a perfect fit for this laptop since the high core count can offer decent performance for a 15W CPU, while also keeping the power usage to a minimum. If the laptop comes with a decent cooling setup, the CPU can go above its 15W limit, and thus deliver more performance. On the GPU side, the integrated Iris Xe Graphics are made for both daily usage and productivity, as they support several encoding and decoding codecs, while also being pretty good for rendering.

The laptop comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, which works even when the laptop is off, an HDMI 2.0, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and an optional SmartCard reader, which can be used for further authentication and unlocking the laptop.
