[Specs, Info, and Prices] Razer Blade 15 and Blade 17 (Early 2022) – universal laptops that can do anything you want

The Razer Blade series offers thin and portable devices with great amounts of power thanks to the latest hardware from Intel and NVIDIA. At CES 2022, Razer revealed the 2022 versions of their Blade 15 and Blade 17 laptops that use Alder Lake and RTX Ampere.

They stand apart from the competition being portable while also using some of the most powerful hardware available. Needless to say, cooling will be a big deal for this laptop, as Intel chips are known to heat up.

Today we are giving you a quick overview of the Razer Blade 15 and Blade 17 (Early 2022).

The Razer Blade 15 (Early 2022) and Razer Blade 17 (Early 2022) are available for $2499 and $2699, respectively.

Design

The laptop has a minimal design with an aluminum body. The body has sharp edges and round corners, along with a matte finish, which will collect fingerprints and smudges. The black and green aesthetic is for sure underused, so thank you Razer and HP for your Blade and Pavilion Gaming laptops. The lid has the iconic Razer logo, with the three snakes being fabulous as always.

WeightHeight
Razer Blade 15 (Early 2022)2.00 kg (4.4 lbs)16.9 mm (0.67″)
Razer Blade 15 (Early 2022)2.75 kg (6.1 lbs)19.9 mm (0.67″)

Display

Both laptops come with the same displays, with the sole difference being the size. The base model comes with a Full HD IPS panel with a 360Hz refresh rate, a 2ms response time, and 100% sRGB color coverage. Next is a QHD IPS panel with a 240Hz refresh rate, a 3ms response time, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The last panel has a 4K UHD resolution with 100% DCI-P3 coverage on the Blade 15 and 100% AdobeRGB coverage on the Blade 17.

Specifications and features

The two devices also come with the exact same specs, featuring two Alder Lake H processors, with the Core i7-12800H and the Core i9-12900H, which use revolutionary (for Intel, at least) technology, using both Performance and Efficiency cores. The more efficient cores mainly handle background tasks and low-resource tasks like web browsing and video streaming. This results in great power efficiency when you’re not using the device to its full potential, improving the battery life.

The base model comes with the RTX 3060, which will do great in 1080p gaming, especially in shooters that can utilize the 360Hz display. From there we have the RTX 3070 Ti and the RTX 3080 Ti, which are for 1440p gaming and above. However, gaming’s not everything you’ll be doing, as with these display offerings and hardware options, the laptop will be more than capable of handling complex video editing, 3D Rendering, and any type of color-sensitive work. The base has a backlit keyboard and front-firing stereo speakers.

The laptops come with wide I/O coverage, which includes three USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports, two USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports, one of which has Thunderbolt 4 support, an HDMI 2.1 connector, an SD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The Blade 17 also has an Ethernet connector, which the Blade 15 lacks.
