Acer Predator 15’s display may not seem perfect but it’s way better than the one on the Alienware 15 R2

Last week we were finally able to get our hands on the Full HD version of the famous Acer Predator 17 and by requests of many users, we tested the display to make a good assessment and comparison to the Ultra HD version. Yesterday was also the day on which we published the full review of Acer Predator 15 – the 15-inch variant. Our tests indicate pretty good image quality, enough have a head start compared to the Full HD version of the Alienware 15 R2. Don’t get us wrong, though, Dell’s offering is pretty solid, but lacks the much-needed image quality for better gaming and multimedia experience.

Luckily, if that’s of great importance to you, Acer has put a pretty decent panel inside the Predator 15. It has a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, as we said earlier, high maximum brightness (315 cd/m2), really close to optimal color temperature (6642K), and around 90% sRGB color gamut coverage. Not perfect, but enough to reproduce relatively accurate (average DeltaE 2000=3.4) and punchy colors. The contrast ratio is another considerable advantage – 1020:1 giving an edge over the Alienware 15 R2.
