MediaTek officially announced their new top-tier SoC – Helio P20

Along with all the new smartphone that were revealed at the MWC 2016 event, MediaTek announced their new SoC – Helio P20 as well. The main focus of the mobile chip’s capabilities is the increased energy efficiency and according to the manufacturer, Helio P20 should draw 25% less energy, compared to the Helio P10. Furthermore, the SoC is more powerful since it boasts eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz. Things look good on the graphics performance front as well – the mobile chip integrates the Mali T800 GPU clocked at 900 MHz.

Anyway, Helio P20 supports displays with up to Full HD resolution, LPDDR4 RAM, up to 24MP camera sensors or two 13MP units, as well as video recording in 4K resolution at 30 fps. As far as the connectivity goes, the mobile chip supports Wi-Fi ac, GPS/Glonass/Beidou, Bluetooth and LTE Cat. 6, which will provide you with up to 300 Mbps download speeds and up to 30 Mbps upload speeds. You can also take advantage of the dual SIM card support, thanks to the Dual Standby feature.
