Inside Acer Aspire 7 (A715-74G) – disassembly and upgrade options

While there are many gaming laptops out there, you would rarely find something that can do your office work and keep you undercover. Well, this is one of them.

Check out all Acer Aspire 7 (A715-74G) prices and configurations in our Specs System or read more in our In-Depth review.

1. Remove the bottom plate

There are 11 Phillips-head screws keeping the bottom plate in place. After you remove them, you just need to pry it up. Thankfully, this is made extremely easy on this one.

2. Battery

Acer has equipped the Aspire 7 (A715-54G) with a 57.5Wh battery unit. Before you proceed, please, make sure you unplug the battery connector. It will save you a lot of hassle afterward. The battery itself is fixed in place by two Phillips-head screws, by the way.

3. Memory and storage

What follows is one of the great feats of Acer this year. Not only they have included two RAM DIMMs that support up to 32GB of DDR4 memory. But this device supports up to 2 TB of 2.5″ SATA drive, as well as two M.2 NVMe drives.

4. Cooling system

Similarly to a lot of gaming Acer laptops that came out in 2019, the Aspire 7 (A715-74G) has a two-fan cooling solution that embodies three heat pipes. Two of them are shared between the CPU and the GPU and one is dedicated to the graphics card only.
