4 reasons to buy ASUS ZenBook Flip S (UX370UA)

1. Generally good build, extremely portable, simplistic design

In terms of construction, the main material here is aluminum. The plate feels quite stable, while the lid doesn’t give in to our twisting attempts. In addition, thanks to the hinges that provide smooth and linear travel you can open the first centimeters of the convertible with one hand. Furthermore, the anodized aluminum bottom comes with just four small grills for the loudspeakers. The convertible also doesn’t compromise when it comes to mobility – a weight of 1.1 kg and a 10.9 mm thin profile make it an ideal companion to carry around.

2. Rich and vibrant IPS display (+ no PWM)

Just like the other models from the ZenBook lineup, Flip S (UX370UA) impresses with an excellent 13.3-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display that offers good maximum brightness (321 nits), high contrast ratio – 1150:1, 91% sRGB coverage so colors will appear rich and vibrant. Furthermore, our equipment didn’t detect any light pulsations so the screen is safe for continuous work without causing any negative effects. We also suggest installing our custom profiles that further improve the image quality.

3. Good CPU utilization considering the small body

For such a small 13-inch convertible, the ASUS ZenBook Flip S (UX370UA) manages to utilize the 8th gen Intel Core i5-8250U processor pretty well. You are provided with just enough power to meet your everyday needs.

4. Long battery life

Even though the tiny notebook sports a modest 39Wh battery unit, the runtimes are definitely great. For instance, the web browsing time is pretty good – 764 minutes on a single charge, which is due to the energy-efficient Core i5-8250U CPU and the small 13.3-inch screen.

1 reasons NOT to buy ASUS ZenBook Flip S (UX370UA)

1. Limited I/O

Our major complaint about the hybrid is the relatively limited range of ports. The left side features just one USB-C 3.1 (Gen 1) connector also used for charging, a 3.5 mm audio jack and the main grill for dispersing heat. On the right, there is another USB-C 3.1 (Gen 1) port, as well as a fingerprint reader, which has a rather unusual position but it’s quite comfortable to reach when using the device in tablet mode, and the usual volume rocker and power button.
