Amazon releases a new Fire HD 10 tablet – upgraded display and improved performance at a lower price

Amazon’s tablets were a hit a few years back when they were one of the few to provide a rather good experience at an affordable price. However, lately only the Kindle e-book is doing well but it seems that the giant retailer is not giving up on tablets. Amazon is releasing a new upgraded version of the Fire HD 10. Let’s see what it has to offer.

The main upgrade is the screen and the performance overall while dropping the price. The Fire HD 10 now incorporates a Full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution screen that should have been available years before. Other than that, Amazon claims up to 30% increased performance thanks to the quad-core processor and doubles the amount of system memory to 2GB.

The battery is said to last up to 10 hours and the available storage is either 32 or 64GB, of course, expandable via a microSD card. A 2MP camera is found on the back of the tablet and a VGA front-facing for Skype calls. You also get stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos.

The Fire HD 10 supports Amazon’s intelligent personal assistant Alexa that will be always on your disposal listening for your voice commands. The tablet will be available in three color options – Black, Marine Blue and Punch Red and will feature matching cases.

Amazon Fire HD 10 will start from just $149 and is available for pre-order. The release date is set for October 11th.
