Performance test of Sony Xperia M4 Aqua and its Snapdragon 615

xperia-m4-aqua-speed-processor-4fb9fda12edf97d550d4e767b8cad531-460We are still testing Sony Xperia M4 Aqua and to this point we’ve shown you the amazing photos it takes and the temperatures it reached after long gaming sessions.

Now it’s time to see what computing and graphics performance can the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 mobile chip provide. It has 8 cores – 4x Cortex-A53 operating at 1.0GHz and 4x Cortex-A57 at 1.7GHz. Each core can be turned off or on individually so you can get as much power as you need and save the battery charge. However, all of this is done by the SoC automatically. Along with that, there’s the Adreno 405 GPU and 2 GB of RAM.

The device can be considered as an upper-mid-ranger (judging by the price) so the expectations aren’t low. You can see the results of Xperia M4 Aqua below, compared to some other models from the same class. Stay tuned for more thorough information and tests in our upcoming review.

3DMark (Ice Storm Unlimited)
In the Unlimited test, the 3DMark engine uses frames with fixed interval and renders identical frames for every test on each device. They run on 720p resolution (regardless of the resolution of the specific device)
