ASUS ZenBook Flip UX360 (FHD model) display profiles – Quality and Health impact results

ASUS-ZenBook-UX360-3ASUS’ ZenBook successor holds up to its legacy and offers a good IPS panel, perfect for multimedia and browsing purposes. It has little drawbacks that need fixing so that’s why we offer our custom profiles. In the pack below, you will find the usual Health-Guard, Office work / Web design and Gaming / Movie Nights profiles. You can read more about them here and how to use them. We also suggest reading our dedicated article regarding blue light emissions and PWM and how our custom profiles help eliminate both to certain extend.

The ASUS ZenBook Flip UX360 has an excellent IPS without PWM above 25% brightness, wide sRGB coverage, decent maximum brightness and high contrast ratio. However, our profiles will improve the visibility in darker areas of an image/scene and will also reduce the eye strain due to the blue light emissions. The former will be much useful when watching movies periods of time as it improves the visibility where needed.

Since our profiles are tailored for each individual display model, this article and its respective profile package is meant for ASUS ZenBook Flip UX360 with 13.3″ AUO B133HAN02.7 (FHD, 1920 x 1080) IPS touchscreen and the machine can be found at Amazon.com: ASUS ZenBook Flip UX360.

Office Work / Web Design

This profile aims to deliver the most accurate colors possible in the sRGB gamut – the colors used on the Web. That makes it suitable for Office work and, in some cases, for Web Design. Although, the display doesn’t offer the needed properties for color-sensitive work, if you want accurate color reproduction, we suggest using this profile. We would advise that you pick a notebook with an IPS screen with better gamut coverage / contrast ratio. However, we successfully bring the average DeltaE 2000 (color accuracy, lower is better) down from 4.8 to 1.7. Let’s see how that looks in the two graphs below…

Along with the color adjustments, we were also able to tweak the white point and bring it near 6500K. The gamma curve also seemed a bit off, so we corrected that as well.

Gaming and Movie Nights, Health-Guard

As we already mentioned, the display offers good image quality for general multimedia purposes but our Gaming and Movie Nights profile enhances the user experience just where it needs to be. This profile lets you see more details in the darkest areas (you can see an example here).

Health-Guard profile

As for the Health-Guard profile, it reduces the Blue Light impact and eliminates PWM to some extent. However, since the ZenBook UX360’s display doesn’t use PWM for most of the brightness levels, the profile will come in handy only for reducing blue light emissions, which is just as important.
