[Comparison] ASUS VivoBook S13 S333 (2020) vs ASUS VivoBook S13 S330 (2019)

The VivoBook S13 333 is a nice upgrade compared to its predecessor – VivoBook S13 S330. The latter is a decent device with a great screen-to-body ratio, and it’s whisper-quiet under load. There are some drawbacks like narrow color coverage and cheap-ish build but in general – we like this device. For more info about it, you can check our in-depth review.

The new one will be upgraded with modern processors, faster dedicated GPUs, and some new connectivity features. Let’s compare and find the differences between the new one and the current model.

Hardware: Ice Lake and entry-level NVIDIA GPUs

The VivoBook S13 S333 can be configured with Ice Lake CPUs like i5-1035G1 or even i7-1065G7 so if you don’t need a dedicated GPU the latest Intel Iris Graphics will be at your service. That’s fine because the UHD G1 (the iGPU of i5-1035G1) is faster than UHD 620 and the Intel Iris Plus G7 is one of the fastest iGPUs out there. Still, if you need more graphics power you can configure your device with NVIDIA GeForce MX230 / MX250 and moreover, configurations with MX330 and MX350 will be available soon.

The body – thinner and with aluminum everywhere

The S333 profile is thinner than the S330 – 14.9mm vs 17.9mm. The weight is unchanged – 1.4kg. Aluminum is used for the entire body which will definitely add a premium feel to those devices. The thing that we don’t like is the increased size of the bezels because of the newer panels from a different manufacturer. Two color options will be available – Dreamy White and Indie Black.

Connectivity, ports, and other specs – Wi-Fi 6 and bigger battery

Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.0 will be onboard as well as a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Type-C), a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Type-A), an HDMI, an audio jack, a microSD card reader, and two USB 2.0 ports. Like all new VivoBook models, the S333 will get a 50Wh battery unit (S330 sports a 42Wh battery).
