Motorola Moto G3 (3rd Gen) detailed specs sheet – No FHD screen this year (Updated!)

IMG_20150724_175316As you probably know, we now have the Motorola Moto G3 and we’re putting it to the test, preparing it for our in-depth review. You can expect that soon, but until then, we’re going to reveal some more information about the mobile. There were many speculations about the presence of a Full HD screen, 2GBs of RAM and a 13MP back camera, but it turns out that not everything is true.

The third generation Motorola Moto G does indeed have a 13MP back camera and a 5MP front one, but still sports just 1GB RAM, while the screen is only HD (1280 x 720) instead of Full HD. We were expecting a Snapdragon 615 processor as well, but Moto G3 runs on Snapdragon 410, which also features four Cortex-A53 chips, but at a frequency of 1.36 GHz.

Perhaps the use of an HD screen instead of a Full HD one isn’t a totally bad idea – the 2470 mAh battery should provide more battery life, and the 5-inch display becomes “Retina” when observed from a distance of a mere 30 cm.

Update: There are some leaks suggesting a 2GB RAM version of Moto G, with 16GB storage. Our unit has 8GB storage and 1GB RAM.

Follow us for more interesting info on the matter and don’t forget to come back to LaptopMedia.com on the 28th of July so we can watch and discuss the Motorola event together. Right after the event, we’ll publish our Motorola Moto G3’s detailed review – we have a lot more interesting tests to share with you and we can’t wait to do it.

Do you have the 8GB hard drive or 16GB hard drive? How much free space is available for the user after Moto’s software is in place taking up a chunk of it?
