Three new Laptops are added to our PWM ranking system – Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 (UHD version), Dell Inspiron 7559 and Acer Predator 15

Top Laptop PWM Ranking (Rated by negative impact on eyesight).clipularWe just added three new laptops to our PWM ranking systemToshiba Satellite Radius 12 (UHD version), Dell Inspiron 7559 and Acer Predator 15/. We already did a review of the laptops and we are doing our frequent update on the PWM ranking system. Since the PWM issue with some of the laptops on the market is quite big, we suggest you read our dedicated article explaining what the so-called screen flickering effect and why we include these sort of tests in our reviews.

Anyway, we’ve got some good news about the premium version of the Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 because the screen doesn’t use PWM below 100 cd/m2. Keep in mind that anything under 100 cd/m2 is too dim. As for the gaming laptops from Dell and Acer, they both use PWM from 0 to 99% screen brightness. However, the Inspiron 7559’s panel emits light with 20.5 kHz while the Predator 15’s display flickers at 21 kHz frequency so the negative impact on the eyesight is reduced.
