[FPS Benchmarks] ARK: Survival Evolved on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 [40W and 50W] – both perform fine but the 50W rival is 20% faster
ARK: Survival Evolved is a fascinating game that includes both single-player and multiplayer modes. The player is sent to an island that is being populated by dinosaurs and other hostile humans as well. You can craft weapons, ride animals, and build bases for defense.
ARK is an Unreal 4-based game and if your GPU is decent, you’ll see a lot of beautiful scenes like lakes, sunrise, forests, huge animals, etc. The big open world wants everything out of your system. Just an example – based on our own tests, even the mighty NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q can’t go above 60 FPS on Ultra.
It’s time to see what the GeForce GTX 1650 [40W, 896 CUDA, GDDR6] and the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W, 1024 CUDA, GDDR5] can offer when playing ARK.

Verdict
As we said, this is a heavy game. Nope, Ultra is a no-go here, probably High as well because you can observe some FPS dips below 30 FPS in action-packed scenes. On Low, both GPUs are doing a great job – GeForce GTX 1650 [40W] reaches 87 FPS while its bigger TGP sibling is 17% faster.
It’s a bit pity that the game doesn’t look good on Low – the graphics quality is washed-out. This leads us to the point where Medium is suitable for both GPUs and it offers a decent amount of details. The GeForce GTX 1650 [40W] achieved 37 FPS and its rival scores even 45 FPS and that is a respectable result.
