First impressions of Lenovo Vibe X3 – Snapdragon 808, 5.5-inch Full HD screen and 21MP camera

We’ve already introduced Lenovo Vibe X3 Lite, also known as A7010, and now we’ve got its premium brethren – Lenovo Vibe X3. As you’ve probably noticed, the model lacks the “Lite” from the name, but in its place we’ve got a couple of new features. We’re planning to do a full in-depth review of the device, but for now, we’re going to share our first impressions.

You can find information about the price and availability of Lenovo Vibe X3 at the following link:

Ok, so the fist noticeable difference is in the SoC – now we’re dealing with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808, along with its Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The internal storage is 32GB, but the OS and pre-installed apps take a bit of it, so you’re left with 23GB available. If you feel that you need more storage, you throw in a microSD card, which will take up your secondary SIM slot. Keep in mind that the phone’s rear cover isn’t removable and the aforementioned slots are located in an SIM card drawer, which is accessed with the usual SIM pin included in the package.

Taking a look at Vibe X3’s design, we see that it strongly resembles the X3 Lite version. The phone has a plastic matte back cover, which doesn’t look cheap in any way. It does collect nasty fingerprints and smudges, but they aren’t as visible (at least on the white version that we use). On this side, we find the fingerprint sensor – located right below the main camera. We’ve already talked about this particular positioning of the fingerprint sensor and that we definitely like it, because your index finger automatically falls on the right place when you’re holding the device with one hand. Speaking of single-handed usage, we should note that you won’t be able to reach a the upper right edge of the phone’s screen, despite the relatively thin screen bezels and slightly curved back. That’s due to the 5.5-inch display, ofc course, which, by the way, has Full HD resolution, an IPS panel and a Gorilla Glass 3 protective glass.

We’ve already mentioned that the phone has a large variety of pre-installed apps available. If we include the Google apps package, their total number gets to 43. Among them, we find WPS Office, UC Browser, Shazam, MCAfee Security, SHAREit, SYNCit, Evernote, Route 66, etc. However, this isn’t all that the Lenovo’s UI has to offer. You’ll get a lot of extra features and gesture that make the phone much easier to use. We’ll make sure to take a closer look at all of them in our upcoming review.

Last, but not least, the camera. Lenovo Vibe X3 has a 21MP rear shooter with a double LED flash. There are a lot of interesting shooting modes available, such as slow mode, fast mode, background blur, a super night mode, HDR and professional mode allowing you to adjust the ISO, white balance and other settings manually. You can expect a dedicated article about it with some sample shots we were able to take with the device.
