1. Remove the bottom plate

In contrast, to its predecessor, the Predator Helios 300 15 (2019) is not equipped with service panels anymore. However, removing the bottom plate is made extremely easy – just remove the 10 Phillips-head screws, then pop the bottom plate open with the help of a plastic prying tool (a guitar pick will do). Now, if you have read our review, you know that Acer has finally separated the fans of the Helios 300, that used to be stuck together.

2. Battery

First, let’s give some attention to the battery. It is rated at 57Wh and it is held in place by only two screws.

3. Memory and storage

This is where the Predator Helios 300 15 (2019) is on top of its competition. Well, in terms of memory, it has the commonly seen two RAM DIMMs, but when you look at the storage, you’ll see not one, but two M.2 NVMe-enabled SSD slots, that support RAID 0. In addition to that, there is the 2.5″ SATA drive slot.

4. Cooling system

We are down to the most exciting stuff – the cooling. It has two fans – one plastic and one made out of meta… excuse us, we meant 4th Generation AeroBlade 3D technology. Indeed, the airflow, coming from this fan appears to be higher, however, we are still having a hard time to justify the mouthful of a name. What is more interesting, though, is that the layout of the heat pipes is very similar to the one on Lenovo Legion Y540. This is not a bad thing, because that means it has three heat pipes and a total of four heat spreaders. All of that is complemented by some sizeable metal plates.
