Mobile GeForce GTX 1070 specs confirmed: more CUDA cores and more TMUs than its desktop counterpart

After long weeks of leaks, we finally have the real thing in our office – the mobile GTX 1070 and thus, we can confirm the specs that were going around. Thanks to our friend over at Videocardz.com, we cleared out that the GPU features more CUDA cores and more TMUs than its desktop counterpart, however, clock speeds are slightly decreased. Here’s what we have so far.

According to previous and current GPU-Z screenshots, the video card boasts 2048 CUDA cores (128 more than the desktop GTX 1070), 64 ROPs, 170 TMUs (again 50 more than the desktop variant), and the chip uses 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM from Samsung on a 256-bit bus with a maximum memory bandwidth of 256.3 GB/s. We can expect monstrous performance, especially with the listed clock speeds – 2002 MHz for the memory and 1443 MHz for the GPU itself. However, the latter can go up to 1645 MHz meaning that it doesn’t differ too much from its bigger desktop sibling. For the record, the desktop GTX 1070 offers 1506 – 1683 MHz clock speeds.

1070

Eager to see how it performs in real-life? Gaming tests perhaps? We got you covered. By the end of the day, we will post gaming tests on a 1080p and 2160p resolution to see how it performs compared to the old 970M and even 980M. Stay tuned.

Wow now that’s amazing ! Will you add the real desktop 1070 GTX to the coming benchmarks so we can see if there is a real difference ?
