MSI announces five iterations of the new NVIDIA flagship model – GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

After ASUS, MSI became the second manufacturer that announced its iterations of the new NVIDIA flagship – GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. The company will offer five different models. One using a blower type cooler – Aero, two with aftermarket coolers – ARMOR and GAMING X, as well as one with hybrid and another one with entirely liquid cooling – SEA HAWK X and SEA HAWK EK.

The most famous of these MSI series is namely GAMING X and it features their famous TWIN FROZR VI cooler. Also, the model’s name will be MSI GeForce GTX 100 Ti GAMING X 11G – continues the tradition of incredibly long names. As we saw in our reviews, the TWIN FROZR cooler is really capable. It has a massive radiator and a nickel-plated copper plate in its base. For the purpose of best heat transfer, there are a few heat pipes coming out of it thick up to 8 mm, and they are also connected to the aluminum radiator fins. On top of it we find MSI TORX Fan 2.0 fans which generate great airflow while being silent.

Of course, apart from the efficient cooling, MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GAMING X 11G will also impress you with the usual GAMING X series black and red design with a dragon logo under which there is RGB backlighting, capable of reproducing up to 16.8 million colors. The manufacturers are happy to point out the GPU’s build quality, claiming that they have used Military Class 4 components. To get the most out of your graphics card, they have added two 8-pin connectors.

The other model that will feature MSI’s TORX fans is GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Armor 11G OC. As the name suggests, the GPU will come with factory overclock. Its design resembles some kind of armor, hence the name. It is also compatible with MSI’s Zero Frozr software feature that will turn your fans off when your system is lightly loaded (for example, when web browsing or playing a not so demanding game).

MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti AERO 11G OC, on the other hand, is the product which comes with a turbine type of cooler – leading the GPU-generated heat out of your computer case.

SEA HAWK is probably among the most capable MSI offers, thanks to their liquid cooling. The one, used in SEA HAWK X, is manufactured by Corsair. It features an additional fan of the GPU itself which dissipates heat from memories and voltage controllers as well. Both SEA HAWK models will be with significantly increased frequencies of the graphics processor and memory.
