Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 450

Qualcomm revealed the successor to Snapdragon 435 and new leader of the Snapdragon 4xx series. This is the Snapdragon 450. It uses a 14nm technological process and features eight Cortex-A53 cores, whose goal is to increase performance by up to 25% over the one provided by Snapdragon 435. They now have clock speeds of up to 1.8 GHz.

As for the gaming performance improvement of 25%, the Adreno 506 GPU is to blame. Additionally, there will be 30% decrease in energy consumption in games which, Qualcomm claims, increases battery life with up to 4 hours of active use, again compared to the Snapdragon 435.

Furthermore, the new mobile chip will support up to 21MP cameras or dual cameras (13MP + 13MP), Full HD video recording at 60 fps, USB 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac standard, as well as the QuickCharge 3.0 technology allowing to charge your phone up to 80% within 35 minutes.
