The new Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 disappoints with performance but impresses with everything else

Alright, this one is about a new hybrid solution by Dell. We are talking about the new XPS 13, a 2-in-1 hybrid which comes with the familiar 360-degree hinge and attractive lightweight design (it’s only 1.24 kg).

This bad boy is also offered in two touch-sensitive display versions – a Full HD display and an UltraSharp Quad HD+ panel (3200 x 1800 p). Performance-wise, you will be presented with either an Intel Core i5-7Y54 (3.2GHz) or Intel Core i7-7Y75 (3.6GHz) but we must note that even though these names sound as if the chips are part of the Core i family, they actually belong to the Core m lineup – they should be enough for regular tasks but will have trouble with heavier computing operations, compared to the processors used in the original Dell XPS 13. Either CPUs are accompanied by Intel HD Graphics 615 graphics card, and as for the RAM capacity – you can get 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB. Battery-wise, there is a 46Whr unit which should ensure up to 15 hours of usage in the Full HD configuration, according to the manufacturer.

This XPS will be available from 5th January at a starting price of $1000.
