Samsung Galaxy J5 and its Snapdragon 410 SoC vs some of the heaviest games on the Google Play store (video)

Snapdragon 410 and Adreno 306 have repeatedly proven that they have decent performance when it comes to gaming. Having said that, we were pretty optimistic about Samsung Galaxy J5’s results in our gaming tests. The games we used are Asphalt Airborne 8, Dead Trigger 2 and Modern Combat 5. The good news is that all of the games ran relatively smooth and there weren’t any major frame drops.

In the video below you can see a small portion of our gaming experience. We’ve also displayed the CPU and GPU load on the left and right parts of the screen respectively as well as the average frames per second on each game. Samsung Galaxy J5 was able to run Asphalt Airborne 8 at 21 fps and even though the result isn’t impressive, it is sufficient to provide enjoyable gameplay. In Dead Trigger 2, the average fps was around 27 fps, but keep in mind that we ran the game at “medium” graphic settings, since the highest settings were unavailable. Regardless of the frame drops between 20 and 30 fps, we didn’t experience any major lag. Modern Combat 5 ran pretty smoothly at a steady rate of 23 fps.
