[FPS Benchmarks] DOOM Eternal on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (95W) and RTX 3060 (65W) – the bigger GPU is 14% faster

DOOM Eternal is part of the super-popular series. The game brings everything that a true DOOM fan can desire – intensive gameplay full of monstrous creatures and demons, tons of destructive weapons, an aggressive soundtrack, and great graphics.

Speaking of graphics, as we said, the game looks great, and additionally, it’s well-optimized. It runs okay even on a not-so-powerful GPU like the NVIDIA GeForce MX450 (GDDR6 / 25W). Of course, if you need more than 60 FPS on Ultra Nightmare quality, your device should be at least a modern mid-range gaming machine. For this article, we have picked two decent Ampere GPUs – the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (95W) and RTX 3060 (65W).

Verdict

It’s not a surprise that the bigger GPU has won the match. On average, it’s 14% faster compared to the GeForce RTX 3060 (65W). The latter isn’t slow by any means – on Ultra Nightmare preset, the 95W GPU is just 7% faster which isn’t a big difference and you can hardly spot that during gaming. However, if you need more FPS, the 65W rival can show 149 FPS on Medium quality and this is perfectly fine for such a fast-paced shooter.
