[FPS Benchmarks] Gears 5 on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3070 (130W) – the RTX 3080 is 10% faster

Gears 5 is the predecessor of Gears Of War 4 and just like the latter it uses Unreal Engine 4. The good news is that the game is well optimized and it looks just fine even on Medium preset. Because of the decent optimization Low settings are not a problem for GPUs like the GeForce MX250.

If you want to see the game with every visual setting bump to the max alongside good FPS your machine must be at least a mid-ranger. For this article, we have the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3070 (130W) in front of us so let’s see how fast are these two if you want to play Gears 5 with high FPS.

Verdict

Well, we have a 10% performance gap on average. As you can see, the GeForce RTX 3070 (130W) is able to show 106 FPS on Ultra quality which sounds more than enough for the majority of gamers. Sure, the GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) is faster but the difference between these two GPUs isn’t too big and it seems like the smaller GPU is the right choice at least when it comes to Gears 5.
