[FPS Benchmarks] Red Dead Redemption 2 on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (150W) and RTX 3070 Ti (150W) – a close battle

Red Dead Redemption 2 is another super-successful game created by Rockstar Games. The core gameplay is somehow close to the Grand Theft Auto series – you got one huge world at your disposal for free-roaming. It’s up to you which mission to start and where you’ll go. The main difference between this game and the GTA series is that Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in 1889 (ergo, the Wild West times) so you’ll ride horses, and yes, no cars here.

Graphically, the title looks great but it’s heavy when it comes to system requirements – 60 FPS on Max details is mission impossible for all high-end mobile GPUs (at least for now – Q2 2022). On the other hand, the title looks good even on Medium so a mid-range GPU like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti [95W] can show around 64 FPS on Medium details which is enough for a normal gaming experience. For this comparison, we have picked two fast RTX graphics solutions – the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (150W) and RTX 3070 Ti (150W).

Verdict

Well, that is a bit unexpected – the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti (150W) isn’t too far away compared to the performance of its bigger sibling. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (150W)  is 11% faster on Medium compared but when it comes to the other visual presets – we’re talking about a 2% to 3% FPS difference between the two rivals. This means that the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti (150W) performs almost as well as the GeForce RTX 3080 (150W).
