1. Design and build quality
While the laptop is built out of plastic, it is decently sturdy and looks remarkably well for a mid-range device. As with all Legion laptops, we get an extended backside, which houses two heat vents and a part of the I/O. The Legion branding is found on the left side of the lid and the bottom bezel. The Lenovo branding is little, with two wordmarks on the bottom right corner of the lid and the base. The laptop isn’t portable at all, with a 17.3-inch display, a weight of nearly 3.00 kg, and a profile of 26.2 mm.
The lid opens easily with one hand, revealing a matte display with thin bezels, the top of which houses an HD Webcam, along with the input devices, which are some of the best that you can find on the market as a whole, being better than laptops much more expensive than this one. The keyboard has superbly long key travel and very clicky feedback. The touchpad has a laughably small size for a 17.3-inch device, but still has a very smooth Mylar surface and is every bit as responsive and as accurate.
2. Upgradeability
The laptop brings two SODIMM RAM slots, that can fit up to 64GB of dual-channel memory and two M.2 PCIe x4 drives, one of which has support for Gen 4 drives.

3. Display quality
While we didn’t expect a color-accurate panel, we are for sure glad to get one. The 17.3-inch Full HD IPS panel has a 144Hz refresh rate, comfortable viewing angles, a max brightness of 329 nits in the middle of the screen, and 311 nits average across the surface with a maximum deviation of 12%. The contrast ratio is quite good – 1630:1. In terms of color coverage, you are set as the laptop covers 95% of the sRGB color gamut.
The accuracy was also kind of iffy with the stock settings but improved greatly when we applied our Design and Gaming profile, giving us a dE value of 1.3. Below you can see the scores without (left) and with (right) our profile applied.
