Premium design and 5.5-inch Full HD display

Samsung’s Galaxy A line is famous for its stylish and elegant appearance and the Galaxy A5 (2016) takes things even further. Once again we see a very thin (7.3 mm) and light (155 grams) chassis. However, what makes the biggest impression is the metal frame going around the phone as well as the front and back glass panels with Gorilla Glass 4 coating.

Unlike the Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016) has a larger display with higher resolution. We’re talking about a 5.2-inch screen with Full HD (1920×1080) resolution, leading to more detailed images and pixel density of around 424 ppi. Furthermore, the device has a Super AMOLED panel, which provides bright and vivid colors, high contrast ratio and wide viewing angles.

Exynos 7 Octa 7580 and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Aside from an attractive appearance and large display, Galaxy A5 (2016) offers high-performance, thanks to its Exynos 7 Octa 7580 SoC that boasts eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.6GHz. The chip integrates the Mali-T720MP GPU and has 2GB of RAM. We’re glad to see that the device provides a microSD slot, supporting up to 128GB, since it has only 16GB internal storage.

Galaxy A5 (2016) runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and will probably receive an update to 6.0 Marshmallow in the future. Samsung’s custom UI runs on top of the OS. TouchWiz changes the overall appearance of the software and adds a couple of pre-installed apps and features.

2900mAh battery and 13MP camera with OIS

The battery of Galaxy A5 (2016) has 2900 mAh capacity and according to the manufacturer should be able to provide up to 16 hours of Wi-Fi web surfing, 14 hours of video playback and up to 75 hours of music playback. This sounds very promising, even for a high-end device.

The phone has a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. The shooter also has OIS and f/1.9 aperture, meaning you’ll be able to get better shots in low-light conditions. At the front we see a 5MP selfie camera with a large variety of functions.
