[Specs and Info] HP ZBook Power G9 – for the experienced professionals

You rarely see laptops with more thought and engineering put into them than the ZBook series from HP. Every year, they present killer machines with workstation-level hardware, and surround them with features up the wazoo, to make an irresistible offer to any engineer, architect, or designer.

Here we have one of their more powerful ZBooks, which is appropriately named the ZBook Power G9. With Alder Lake H-series and pro-grade graphics, you can expect all the performance in the world paired with quality displays and an I/O full of ports.

Today we are giving you a quick overview of the HP ZBook Power G9.

HP ZBook Power G9: Full Specs

Design

The laptop is entirely made of metal, resulting in a strong chassis. Actually, if you place it side by side with its G8 counterpart, you won’t see any major difference. What is more is that the laptop doesn’t take that much space, considering the hardware that it carries on the inside, weighing only 1.89 kg and having a profile of 23 mm. There is a large horizontal grill above the keyboard which is used both for ventilation and houses the speakers.

Display

The display selection includes two FHD IPS panels with either 250 or 400 nits. Interestingly, the 400 nit unit also fully covers the sRGB gamut. There is also a 4K UHD IPS panel with the same 400 nit brightness and 100% sRGB coverage.

Specifications and features

There are a total of six Alder Lahe H-series chips, the last of which is an HK-variant. As with all workstations, we expect the best cooling possible, as you would it in order to push these Alder Lake CPUs to their fullest. On the GPU end, you can either get by on the integrated Iris Xe Graphics, or you go for a discrete GPU with two RTX A-series units and the NVIDIA T600.

The I/O is important with such devices, as you might have to connect to different servers, input and output display signals, etc. There are three USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, a single Thunderbolt 4 port, a LAN port, an HDMI 2.0 port, a SmartCard reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
