[Specs and Info] Lenovo K14 Gen 1 (Intel): very portable and decently powerful

Lenovo has no shortage of notebooks, but they keep churning out more and more. On one hand, they are getting their nameplate everywhere, which is important for brand recognition and offering a different selection of devices to the masses.

On the other hand, it creates confusion for the consumers, which might be off-putting. In any case, today we have the K14, which is a small and lightweight notebook that brings decent performance thanks to some low TDP Intel chips.

Today we are giving you a quick overview of the Lenovo K14 Gen 1 (Intel).

Lenovo K14 Gen 1 (Intel): Full Specs

Design

The laptop is entirely made of plastic, which is the case with even the most expensive ThinkPad laptops from the brand. We would expect a well-built notebook with sturdy construction. The whole notebook is black in color, with the lid and base having a textured surface, which should give you a more comfortable user experience. In terms of weight and height, the laptop stops the scales at 1.50 kg and has a profile of 17.6 mm.

Display

The laptop offers two displays, both with a 14-inch diagonal and Full HD resolution. The base model has a TN panel with 250 nits of brightness and a 400:1 contrast ratio. The other display upgrades the panel to an IPS one, while also increasing the brightness and contrast ratio to 300 nits and 700:1, respectively.

Specifications and features

In terms of specs, we have the Tiger Lake G-series, with the base model getting the Core i3-1115G4 and the Iris Xe Graphics G4, which would do fine for normal tasks and maybe some very light gaming on the lowest possible settings.

If you want more power, the Core i5-1135G7, Core i5-1145G7, and Core i7-1165G7 are all available. They are also paired with the Iris Xe Graphics G7, which is more powerful and can handle esports titles, such as League of Legends, DOTA 2, and CS:GO at higher settings. The CPU power is nothing to scoff at either, as the laptop can be a decent on-the-go laptop for quick video editing work, programming, etc.

The I/O is also really populated with the laptop having a total of two USB Type-A ports (one 2.0 port and one 3.2 Gen. 1 port), two USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, an HDMI 1.4b connector, an Ethernet port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The notebook also has stereo speakers which bring Dolby audio support.
