Laptops have really transitioned into accessory devices, and while not all of them are embracing this, some models are totally in for that, presenting designs with quality materials and excellent execution.

Of course, what’s inside matters as well, even more to folks like us, however, you’d be surprised what people are willing to sacrifice to get a pretty notebook. However, the Lenovo Slim 9 (14″, 2022) not only brings an amazing design with premium materials but also powerful hardware inside that can handle a lot of productivity and Creator work.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Lenovo Slim 9 (14″, 2022).

Lenovo Slim 9 (14″, 2022): Full Specs

Design

The laptop is very well built, using glass and aluminum. The whole lid is covered in the former, which also wraps around the edges. Lenovo calls it 3D Glass, and while it would be very durable, you have to really protect it against drops, as glass easily shatters. The rest of the laptop is made of aluminum, with the bottom panel and base having an anodized finish, while the sides are very glossy and round. The laptop is portable for a 14-inch machine, weighing only 1.39 kg and having a profile of 14.9 mm.

Display

There are two OLED displays available. The base model offers a 2.8K panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. Then we have a 4K UHD+ display with a 60Hz refresh rate. Both panels offer a peak brightness of 400 nits and an infinite contrast ratio, so you get true blacks that aren’t backlit. You also get full DCI-P3 coverage.

Specifications and features

The laptop is powered by the Core i7-1280P, a notoriously powerful CPU that as of this time, holds the #8 spot in our Top Laptop CPU Ranking. The chip has 14 cores and 20 threads, which so far has shown tremendous performance inside the MSI Prestige 15. For graphics, you only get an integrated GPU, with the Iris Xe Graphics G7. With the iGPU, the laptop can do a lot of productivity work, including high-res video rendering.

The sides have the I/O, which includes three USB4 ports with Thunderbolt 4 ports, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

The base houses the speaker setup, with two grills on the two sides of the keyboard, and two grills on the bottom, for a quad-stereo setup. There is an IR face recognition sensor with a privacy shutter that’s controlled by a switch next to one of the USB ports.
